Please pray for our friend, Erica! She gave birth yesterday to a beautiful little girl, Elyse, and is recovering from HELLP syndrome. She is experiencing complications associated with that, and is headed back into emergency surgery now after having a blood transfusion. Erica knows that the God that she serves in the Great Physician, and we ask you to lift her up in prayer now! Pray for the doctors to have wisdom to stop possible internal bleeding. Pray for recovery and health for Erica. Pray that baby Elyse continues to thrive and grow. Praise the Lord that she is healthy! Pray for Erica's husband, Jay as well. "It is with a broken heart that I write that Winters test results came back positive of leukemia. It is the same leukemia that Jacob (her uncle) suffered from ten years ago. However we find some kind of peace in that this type of leukemia is "the most responsive to treatment" though it will be a very long and hard road for baby girl. She is scheduled to begin chemo tomorrow during her spinal tap. It will be a 28 month schedule for treatments. A very long road. We ask for continual prayers as tomorrow will be the hardest day yet for everyone. Thank you for your love and prayer. I am sitting with her in the hospital now and she has woken and is beginning to eat chicken soup! Substance!! She needs it as she has already weakened so much. Pray for strength of mind and body, wisdom for her doctors and parents, and peace....and SLEEP! "

Please pray for a little girl named Keely. She lives in NC and has 2 other siblings. She is a 4 year old little girl that was recently diagnosed with leukemia. The doctors have tried to start chemo on her and she has had an allergic reaction to every treatment that they have tried to give her.

Please pray that God would give the doctors wisdom is knowing how to treat this beautiful little girl. Pray that God would her parents peace and comfort during all of this. Pray that God's name would be glorified and that people would come to know Him through all of this. Thanks for praying- I will update as I learn more.

Will you please pray for sweet Tucker? He is an adorable, always smiling, always sweet young son of two wonderful parents... sibling to a wonderful brother and sister. Tucker is an "undiagnosed-special needs child" who has battled difficulty for so long now. Several months ago, as Tucker was not eating, doctors decided to give Tucker a feeding tube. This has brought periods of great difficulty and strain. This last week Tucker has barely held down anything, and seems to be losing whatever ground he was making up. The plans to stay long term at a treatment center for Tucker, but there will not be room available for several more months. I realize more and more that those who suffer long term, many times receive little prayer because we grow accustomed to the situation. I'm asking you to pray on behalf of this sweet boy, and I'm also asking prayer for his parents who will surely nudge me and say to just pray for Tucker. It's hard to imagine the hours awake, time caring for the feeding tube etc... and watching your child be so sick and not be able to stop it. Please pray especially for this immediate situation that Tucker will not become dehydrated and that whatever is happening now will be diagnosed and resolved. Thank you for caring for this family!

Thank you for continuing to pray for sweet Stellan!!! Guess what God did. Last week as you saw below, Stellan's heart was failing, as were every attempt at medication. Arrangments were being made for an emergency flight to Boston for heart surgery... though there was talk that it might be "to late." To the utter frustration and disappointment of all involved, travel and insurance arrangements were anything but smooth... causing a terrible delay. Which... was when Stellan started to IMPROVE! Praise the Lord for not allowing the surgery to rush ahead when it didn't have to! (Stellan is much younger than they like patients to be for this surgery.) It's one of those amazing times where we can see and KNOW God directing our steps and knowing far better than we do.. how to take care of His children. Stellan's condition has stabilized and he's continuing to adjust to his meds in the hospital.... because while he has stabilized his condition has not changed. Please continue to pray for Stellan!

Thank you for praying for my friend Marlene who was mentioned recently on the prayer wall. She is the care-giver to her mother who suffers from Alzheimers. Recently her mother was diagnosed with kidney failure and sent home with hospice. Today I received this e-mail from Marlene:

Guess what! Mom had some blood work done yesterday and it shows her kidney functions had improved quite a bit. Still not up to normal yet, but over half way there! In fact, she no longer qualifies for hospice! Praise the Lord! Her memory is still an issue of course, but we are praising the Lord for her improvement! Thank you so much for your prayers!

Please don't stop praying for Kate (second from the right) and her precious family as they fight the aggressive cancer that is in her body. The risks and warnings are almost to many to bear, but this family knows that God is in control. Please lift them up in prayer as often as you think of them... they need to be held up right now as they may be to tired to stand! Kate is continuing to fight through physical therapy to regain movement in the right side of her body after brain surgery that removed only half of the large tumor. She is beginning chemotherapy tonight. Their son Will has had surgery suggested for him for an unrelated issue and their parents are having to make such difficult decisions right now. The listed the following prayer requests on their caringbridge site as Kate begins chemo:.
1. That it will quickly kill the cancerous cells, and not the healthy cells
2. That it will NOT damage her kidneys
3. That it will NOT cause her to lose hearing
4. That her nausea and vomiting will be minimal

"WE HAVE SOME SLIGHT RIGHT SIDED MOVEMENT!!! Praise God!!

We sat down with Dr Moss, her neurosurgeon, to review the MRI. There were no signs of stroke or damage to the blood vessels, this is great! He is saying that it looks like as best as he can tell (there is still swelling and bleeding) they got maybe 50% of the tumor. We now await the pathology report, hopefully Tuesday or Wednesday. If it is unclear, the specimen could be sent out multiple places all over the country to see what other pathologists think. Pray for wisdom and a decisive answer. There are possibilities or it being something extremely rare and very hard to treat. Pray please. We had a victory today, and many more are needed. So thankyou for your prayers. We saw them evidenced today. Keep believing for many more!! I will post more soon!!"

She was admitted to the hospital and underwent surgery yesterday. At this point Kate has come out of it with no movement on her right side, which was not expected. Baby Stellan: Update

Stellan was hospitalized again this past weekend with a heightened amount of SVT episodes. His body is responding less to the very high doses of medication he is taking in. Thankfully the doctors were able to stabilize his situation with a new combination of medicines, but they are mostly trying to buy him time before he will have to undergo another risky heart surgery. Please keep this sweet boy and his family in your prayers. Pray also for the countless people who keep track of their situation, and hear how present God is, and how real His peace and joy even in difficult circumstances really is. We serve a great God.

They just had another sonogram... and...

...the baby looks completely normal!!!!! They don't even need to see a specialist any more.

Only our God could do that. Praise Him with me!!!

Will you please join me in praying for 2 year old Levi and his family? Several months ago doctors discovered multiple large tumors in his left eye, and ten days later he had his eye removed. Against all odds, the procedure was done just in time... and Levi's life was spared. He was declared cancer free and did not have to undergo chemotherapy. Will you take a moment NOW and thank God that He's already proven He is a God who heals in this little boy's life? Levi will have to return to Duke to have a check-up... and to be sure that no cancer is returning every four months. His next visit has been scheduled for July 10. Will you please begin praying now for his continued health and protection? Will you pray for his entire family as they face such difficult reminders and pray that the cancer will never return. And will you thank God continually for the testimony of this little boy and his family.. that we'll always know we saw a miracle. :) Thank you for praying!

Please pray for our 18 year old son who is at another turning point in his life; God's mercy has reached out to him so so many times however he remains half hearted and goes through the motions without any committment to the things of the Lord. Praying for Baby Boy...

Will you pray for Will and Irene? They were married in January of this year and shortly after found out that they were expecting a baby in October. Their little baby boy has just been diagnosed with Trisomy 18, a condition that is most often fatal. Please pray for them - whatever the outcome - that the God of peace and comfort will be with them. He will bring them through this time. And please also pray for the "impossible" - that the baby will be just fine. Because no matter what the doctors say, our God is quite capable of conquering the impossible. But even if He chooses not to, He WILL be glorified. We know this.

She's Looking at the Bright Side...

She has had multiple sclerosis for many years w hardly any symptoms at all. lately has been a different story. she is suffering from numbness in her body and pain in her mouth. she is slightly confused and forgetful as well. she had a dr.'s appt. yesterday and was told that they would give her this week to see if her symptoms get better. if her symptoms go away then she won't need to be hospitalized, but if they get worse they are going to admit her next week to get to the bottom of what is going on. please pray that the Lord will once again touch her body and take these symptoms away. if taking the symptoms away isn't His plan, please pray for her and the family. she is an integral part of our family and i would just ask that you pray that the family will have peace, understanding, wisdom and strength, so we will know what we need to do. Thank you so much, and i will keep you posted.

Thank you all for praying for Stellan. God is SO good! He is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think. Let's not forget that!

Stellan is still at home and functioning with SVT. He is on a heart monitor but has been doing very well considering all that he has been through. He will probably still have to have a pacemaker put in place when he is bigger, but for now he is holding his own. His family has glorified our King through this whole process and has even been able to donate some of the funds raised for Stellan to other ministries... because God provided for them above what they even needed. I hope we never cease to be amazed at what our God can do!

How excited is she about answered prayer?!

Thank you all for praying for Savannah this week. Her procedures went well. They were both safe and effective. God guided the doctors and they were able to make a diagnosis. And not only that, but her condition is something she will grow out of. Praise the Lord!

I'm pretty psyched about what God is doing on this "impossible" prayer wall. I KNOW that no matter what the answers, God will be glorified, but it sure is exciting to see what He has been doing!

Praise the Lord Stellan has been discharged from Boston Children's Hospital and is headed home! Thank the Lord for bringing him through an EXTREMELY risky heart surgery Days after being told that due to complications it wouldn't be safe for him to leave he would have to remain at the hospital for at least another month. Instead... he's on his way back home with his mother, (under her careful monitoring) to his three siblings and father! Please continue to pray for this little guy as his heart still struggles with SVT that is being controlled with medicine. Please pray for protection and wisdom for his parents and his doctors. GUESS WHAT GOD DID?!?!
My husband went by our formerly condemened / carefully fixed/ much loved / flooded kitchen (see post below for details)... former home to check the progress of the floor drying and to pick up the estimate from the insurance company. To our utter crazy-delight, this check is enough for...

- repairing the kitchen floor ourselves

- paying off our ENTIRE LOAN that we had to obtain in order to repair our house!!

- exactly. no more. no less.

Recap:
Bad situation in the world's eyes - found out our house was condemend. Had to move out.
- Through God: THIS was the situation that revealed the reason for my health problems that would not have otherwise been discovered... and I am after 3 years doing so much better!

- Our Great God - used this situation to pay off our loan... and bring us full circle!

ONLY GOD could have orchestrated these events so perfectly... and so completely. There is no other explanation and I'm forever thankful! He is so good... above and beyond all I could have asked for! THANK YOU for praying for Stellan. His heart surgery today far-surpassed the anticipated 3 hour time frame, but he is alive this evening. THANK YOU LORD. The surgery he had was extremely risky for an infant (Stellan is 5 months old). Stellan's surgery however did include complications because of the uniqueness of his SVT. Please keep him in your prayers the next few days as time shows whether he will need open heart surgery and a pace-maker... or medication until he is old enough to have better chances with another ablation. Please pray for his family tonight. They are believers and sharing the Lord with literally thousands throughout this process. So... there are alot of people to pray for. Please stop and thank the Lord for Stellan's life and his family's desire to glorify God. And please keep praying for Stellan.

Hi all! Here's an "impossible situation" in which I've already seen my God *who specializes in the impossible" do great and mighty things. My husband and I (three munchkins in tow) bought a home three years ago. This Christmas we put it on the market. Two days before Christmas a man from the city came to inform my gingerbread eating self that the house had been condemned. Yep. Condemned... before we even bought it. First I'd heard of it thank you very much. We moved into our church's missions apartment for what turned into 9 weeks as we sorted out details. We were taken and taken good. But here's the thing. I know who my dad is. [That'd be God in case you're wondering. :)] He has done the impossible in my life before. Just days before this happened this verse really stuck out to me in the Bible: A man's steps are directed by the Lord. How then can any man understand his own way? Proverbs 20:24 My God... who really treats the fatherless like the most wonderful father imagineable was preparing me to trust.. and REJOICE that my steps aren't directed by me. But by Him. *Check it out: Not impossible for God = preparing my mind already to have to leave my home within days. When the man came to the door I had SUCH PEACE.

Will you please continue to pray? Our house has undergone repairs for what the previous owners had seriously neglected... and then hidden from us. It is no longer condemned but we have to wait to sell it to know where we'll finally sink our feet into a home again. Quick summary of the impossible also already done:

-A wonderful church that housed us while we sorted things out... wow what a blessing.

- After 9 weeks a wonderful home provided for us to stay and fix up ... so wonderful and plenty of room for friends. :)

- Three years ago on a missions trip in Africa I contracted typhoid fever... and while I made great improvement I have stayed very sick since. BECAUSE my house was condemned (that's supposed to be the bad thing.. right?) I found out that when the previous owner hid water damage with pretty drywall (*ahem.) they also hid toxic mold that has prolonged and worsened my syptoms and sickness. NOW I can take medicine... and feel better than I have felt in years. WOW. MAYBE... losing our home was also an answer to something we've prayed for for 3 years. wow. And God has not left us alone even in that answer to prayer. He has protected and guided more than we could ever imagine ourselves.

By the way.... when we went this weekend to put our freshly painted, repaired UNcondemned house on the market... we found a pipe had busted and the entire kitchen had flooded... and the floors were a total loss. SO we're repairing that this week. Will you please pray with us that this house will sell? (After repairs it's a brand new beautiful thing! :)

OH and did I mention.... that the insurance has agreed to take care of the kitchen flooding?

MY GOD IS SO GOOD. I trust Him with this. I know that He is good... even when circumstances don't appear that way. I know He's bigger and more wonderful than we can comprehend. And I just want to see Him more! Love, M

Can you all pray for Stellan? He is a five month old little boy with major heart issues. He is having an extremely risky surgery in Boston on Tuesday morning that is not usually performed in infants that young. Please pray that the surgery will go well and that God will give his family peace through this time. Pray for Savannah

My little girl, Savannah, is a 19-month-old with some stomach issues that are causing her to lose weight, and the doctors have not figured out why. Will you pray for her? She has a procedure at the hospital on April 24th, and we are very confident that the One who made her also knows what is wrong with her, and loves her more than we do...no matter what the outcome! Please pray that the doctors will have wisdom to figure out the issues quickly and that, for God's glory, her tummy will be healed. But even if she is not healed... we KNOW that God is good and we will live accordingly.
